We’re pleased to introduce John Baldwin, the Borough first Independents (tBfI) candidate for Bray in the RBWM by-election on Thursday 24 September 2026.
John has lived in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for 33 years and previously served as an RBWM councillor from 2019 to 2023. Since leaving the Council, he has remained closely involved in local government, regularly attending meetings, asking questions and keeping up with developments across the borough and the communities of Bray, Fifield, Holyport and Oakley Green.
John believes residents deserve a Council that is more open, transparent and accountable, with proper scrutiny of the decisions being made on their behalf.
John Baldwin’s priorities for Bray
He is particularly focused on three priorities:
Transparency • Sound Finances • Green Belt
John also wants the Council to do more for the next generation, including expanding degree apprenticeships and creating more opportunities for young people to build skilled careers within the borough.
If elected, John will work closely with Bray Parish Council and bring his experience, independence and willingness to ask difficult questions back to the Council chamber.
